My home was built in 1930. The windows had rope sashes, and almost every window had one missing rope. I decided to replace them with chains, but none of the local hardware stores stocked the correct size for the old pulleys.
I finally found want I needed at SRS Hardware. I replaced the ropes on 17 windows with #8 copper dipped steel chains. The windows glide up and down easily. The chain looks absolutely gorgeous against the dark wood. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.
